The University of South Carolina had implemented an innovative approach to implement internationalization. The effort is under the direction of the vice provost.An important component of the university’s mission is to provide students with the knowledge and cultural awareness to be responsible and successful citizens in today’s globally integrated world. The Global Carolina initiative has grown to involve regional directors, faculty and staff of different disciplines who provide support to the selection of partners and the implementation of international collaboration agreements. A strategic approach and cost effective implementation will be discussed.
