In 2014 and 2015 a delegation of the Stenden University of Applied Sciences from the Netherlands visited 2 Faubai Conferences to learn more about the Brazilian education system and the possibilities to cooperate with Brazilian institutes. This two visits resulted in a cooperation agreement between the Stenden University and IFCE in Fortaleza. This agreement describes the collaboration in the field of sustainable plastics, informatics and hotel management.
In September 2016 we are planning start with the exchange program.
A Stenden delegation also attended a conference in João Pessoa on innovation in professional education. Biomaterials
Oil recourses will exhaust in the coming decades and this will have a large impact for energy supplies and also for the production of plastics and materials. Biobased materials are the new alternative for oil based plastics. For instance plastic materials made out of sugar cane or corn are the next generation of plastic materials. Stenden is specialized in the applied research on the new so called biopolymers which are biobased and sometimes also biodegradable. In the coming years a lot of research has to be to done to optimise the whole life cycle of these materials and also to increase the applications. Brazil is the best partner to cooperate in this type of research, because it has a lot of natural resources and it can offer new opportunities for social and economic growth in a sustainable way. We will present the possibilities in this area for student exchange, professor exchange and cooperation with Brazilian companies on research projects.
Informatics
Stenden University has a lot of expertise in the field of Informatics especially Ethical Hacking and Countermeasures courses which prepares candidates for the CEH exam offered by Stenden. The course focuses on hacking techniques and technology from an offensive perspective. The advanced security course is regularly updated to reflect latest developments in the domain, including new hacking techniques, exploits, automated programs as well as defensive recommendations as outlined by experts in the field. The CEH body of knowledge represents detailed contributions from security experts, academicians, industry practitioners and the security community at large
