In order to prepare professionals for a multicultural and globalized world, higher education faces the challenge of inserting itself in the international context, justifying the present study that sought to discuss the process of internationalization within the Federal Institute of Piauí (IFPI). We observe how government programs and actions of academic mobility developed by IFPI promoted the expansion of internationalization and influenced teaching, research and outreach community projects at IFPI; enabling our students and faculty to relate to different cultures as well as have international academic experience.
