At many U.S. institutions, the traditional exchange model is no longer as viable as it once was. There is a shift in demand towards shorter-term and more specialized programs as mobility trends change and the global economy fluctuates. This presentation aims to start a discussion about how partnerships are formed at different institutions (i.e., what factors and goals are considered and what types of student mobility are prioritized at different institutions%3F) and the types of mobility models that work in different contexts. At the UA, we have had some success with developing new models to address changing student and partner needs. We’ll share some of our success stories and ideas for future collaboration. The example of our experience will fuel a creative discussion about some of the challenges other institutions face and the solutions they’ve found for fostering new and recharging existing partnerships.
