This paper aims at discussing the results of a questionnaire administered to staff and professors of a public Higher Education institution in Brazil during a Continuous Education Program on Management of International Relations in Higher Education. Over the last decades, English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI) has become a growing phenomenon worldwide, but it is still not a common practice in Brazil. Although EMI has been the focus of research at different levels of education, there is still a lack of research based on the actors involved in the practice. The questionnaire sought to investigate the staff and professors’ perceptions and viewpoints on the use of EMI at undergraduate and graduate levels. It focused on the following aspects: 1) challenges for the implementation of EMI at the University; 2) benefits and; 3) possible risks of offering classes in English.
