In response to emerging challenges to student mobility, initiatives such as 100,000 Strong in the Americas support large and small institutions in different ways. Exchange models supported by government and other sponsors have motivated universities to begin to emphasize consortia, networks, and tiered collaboration with multiple complementary partners, both domestic and international. Universities are compelled to rethink structures in order to engage in opportunities to create a stronger international agenda. This session will discuss the approach of two very different institutions to the common challenge of addressing the rapidly changing nature of global partnership needs and opportunities and describe ways such institutions might complement each other's strengths to create novel, sustainable and transformative international partnerships
