File 1![]() 870KB |
After crisis of 2008 Irish government created a new priority for development of higher education system in the country. A new framework prioritizes internationalization as a key component of sustainable development of any society.
Recently the OECD has identified many of the benefits that accrue to higher education institutions from increased internationalisation, including the attraction of new talent, broadening of staff experience, facilitation of research cooperation, and the diversification of funding streams ( The Hunt Report, 2011). However, in spite of the fact that Ireland has one of the oldest system of HE in the world, the country is a relatively new player on the arena of internationalization. In my presentation I will show the key ideas of Irish government which are devoted to the internalization policy of higher education and analyze how internationalization of HE in Ireland affects the country’s economic and social development.
