In this interactive session we will explore how to build cooperative innovation partnerships between academia, government and industry in partner countries, using students as the bridge. This model can drive cutting edge R&D by developing talent, ideas and networks in both countries. As an example, we will look at a program called Globalink, run by Mitacs Canada, which connects industry, universities, and governments in Canada and in partner countries to foster the next generation of innovators through international research collaborations. Through this program Canada has partnered with the governments of Australia, Brazil, China, France, Germany, India, Israel, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, and Tunisia to enable the mobilization of knowledge and talent to thousands of universities and companies across Canada and in these twelve partner countries, facilitating collaborative innovation to boost economic growth and prosperity.
